So we are all guilty of speeding a little bit here and there. Then for even some of us they get caught by Speed Traps that all of a sudden appear out of nowhere.

Well let Trapster come to the rescue!

According to Trapster.com,

“Our goal is to make it so simple that you don’t need to know. But in case you are interested, it combines technologies such as GPS and wireless location, voice transcription, geocoding, reverse geocoding, and SMS, with a central database server. It communicates in real time, using the Internet.”

In lame mans terms, it finds Speed Traps, notifies you of them ahead of time, and if you see a Speed Trap you can notify the Trapster network so it can be flagged for any future would be speeders. I think this is a cool app, albiet usesless to me since I don’t drive, but I’m always curious of these kinds of apps. Pretty cool stuff!

Check out their presentation video for more details on how Trapster works.

It’s available for your iPhone, Blackberry, any unlocked Java/2ME phone, or a Windows Mobile Phone.

Personally, based on the screenshots for the iPhone, I like the aesthetics of the iPhone version, but that’s just me.
