What Are The Best Websites For Video?

We love watching viral videos.

Advertisers like videos too because they can play commercials on them. Advertising dollars are going to keep flooding the online video market as long as people keep watching their TV programs online.

In fact, the WSJ.com greatly depends on video ads, and has more views per video than it has ad space for.  Brian Stelter puts it best: “News Web sites are starting to look a lot less like newspapers and a lot more like television.”

That said, there are a number of start-up video sites that are cropping up to take advantage of this untapped pool of money. According to NY Video Top Startup 2009, the top five video sites are:

1. Zixi is the favorite website. Its platform lets any company broadcast in HD to computers, mobile devices, or TV. It’s apparently useful in Tele-medicine, entertainment, lectures, and live events. Recently, the Zixi platform hooked a church up and allowed them to broadcast their service to even more worshipers.

2. KickApps helps people engage their community with social networking and with sharing photos and videos. Rachael Ray, Budget Travel, and HBO Black List are all clients.

3. 5min.com has instructional videos on everything from Christmas Traditions to instructional videos on how to do the pump up push up and how to play Louie Louis on a Guitar. Some videos are definitely goofier than others.

4. Motionbox pretty much gives you unlimited video storage so you can share your videos with your friends and family without risk of your video going viral. Plus, it offers free quality downloads to your computer or iPod.

5. Adotube creates ad overlay to help ad agencies meet their campaign goals.

But in the course of just a few hours, the line-up has changed! Now KickApps, Zixi, 5min, PopScreen, and Motionbox are the top five, dropping Adotube to 6th place. Now when you click here to check the rankings, it will be different. The winners will be selected December 17th.
