Mark Evans Nails My Current Google Sentiment
By Senior Editor – Kris Smith (@croncast)
This morning consultant and blogger, Mark Evans, has a post titled “Is There Anything That Google Won’t Buy Or Offer?” that is dead on with the coming wave of sentiment towards Google. His post is exactly what I’ve been trying to articulate for the last three weeks.
I’ve already gone as far as switching my default search box in Firefox over to Bing (which I’ll blog about shortly). It’s been about a week since I’ve done it in reaction to Goo.gl URL shortening. You see, with URL shortening they are putting pressure on those in the space already, mostly startups.
My issue is the amount of data they are able to collect from those URL’s. Take for instance the new service that Bit.ly launched, Bitly.tv, to predict viral videos and more. I kind of like spreading my data vapor trail around and not leaving it all behind to one player in the digital market.
All I ask is that you read his post and think about it. That’s all.
