Printed photo albums have been available to consumers for awhile. One of the first that I remember was through a partnership with Apple using iPhoto way back in the first release of iPhoto.

Since then, printed photo books become nearly ubiquitous on consumer photo sites except for one glaring holdout: Facebook. Perhaps it’s because Facebook photos are only available to registered users. Most likely it’s because no one thought to do it.

Well, there’s an app, er, site for that.

Pixable is the first photo printing site that can print your Facebook photos to soft and hardcover photo books in a few simple steps. Login to Pixable using Facebook Connect, name your photo book, select some design options and go.

You can then select photos from your Facebook Photo albums or use public photos from your friends’ albums.

After selecting the photos you want to use, you can choose how you want your book to be filled. I used AutoFill but you can also use a Storyboard style or manually layout your book using Blank Canvas.

After selecting a layout, you can enter captions for each photo. Pixable will use the captions from your Facebook album or you can enter your own. Finally, save it and post it to your wall.

I haven’t ordered an album, so I can’t speak to the quality of the printing but I will comment on the UX. It needs work. The workflow sounds simple but the interface is a bit cluttered and can be confusing if you deviate from the most basic setup.

That said, if you’re looking for a way to print your Facebook Albums, Pixable is for you.
