Startup folks often find themselves working all the time and much of that on tangential ideas that come from the process of working on one idea. The 99%’ers are here to help with that.

The 99% conference is held by the people that bring us Cool Hunting and Behance. The theme for the conference is Thomas Edison’s famous quote, “Genius is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration.”

If I were attending one conference this year with high hopes and a on a bootstrapped budget it would be this one. As a guy required to crank out 5 blog posts a day, I’ve developed a process of getting it done (when not sick :- ) ). The speaker list hasn’t been released yet but judging on last year’s speakers it aims to be a top notch event.

Another aspect of this event that puts it at the top of my short list and is causing me to recommend it won’t be massive event. It looks to be a Gnomedex for getting it done. And if you’ve gotta take a couple of days away from your startup to hang at a conference, one focused on the 99% of perspiration is the way to do it.

Here’s how the 99% folks have described the event:

Unlike the other conferences that focus purely on ideas and inspiration, the 99% is all about ACTION.

For two days each year, we bring together some of the world’s most productive creative visionaries to offer a behind-the-scenes look at their processes as they share road-tested insights on pushing ideas forward.

The conference will have a mixer the night before on April 14th for attendees and will kick off the next day on the 15th. The entry fee to the 99% conference is $699.00 with a $9.95 service fee. It will be held at the spacious and beautifully designed The Times Center, New York City.
