I’ve been using the LogMeIn service for quite awhile now. There are a number of different versions with different features and functionality for each.

LogMeIn Rescue, LogMeIn Hamachi, LogMeIn Free or LogMeIn Pro. One of these items or one of the other seven that are available are sure to get you connected to the machine you want, when you need.

I don’t own an iPhone and I’m not really interested in installing any Apple products on my computer. However, with LogMeIn’s release of the Ignition app, it makes me take another look at the potential of picking up an iPhone.

The better news is that I don’t have to have an iPhone to take advantage of this new application. The iPhone application is just an additional application that works in coordination with the normal Ignition app. The key to that app is that when you need to support your clients you can have it installed on your desktop, or thumb drive and take your quick access to a variety of systems wherever you go.

If you’re not sure about the functionality provided, you should give the LogMeIn Free client a try. It’s delivered exactly the results we’ve desired and we’re excited about to use for our clients and our internal uses.

Looks like some shake-ups are going down in the world of Yahoo! Mobile and any and all of you Blackberry users might be the ones feeling the aftershocks. Looks like reports are coming in that Yahoo’s mobile division is going to be soon abandoning any and all mobile apps for not only the Blackberry, but other smartphones and instead will focus all of its efforts and energy on its new iPhone apps and it’s mobile browser.

We caught wind of this from TechCrunch and apparently they have the official details from a Yahoo spokesperson. Here’s what Yahoo has to say about saying Bye Bye to Blackberry:

“We are reprioritizing some products to help us better deliver the best possible experiences to consumers on mobile. To streamline our services, we will not develop Yahoo! Mobile for smartphones to focus our efforts on mobilizing Yahoo!, improving Yahoo! Mobile for web and Yahoo! Mobile for iPhone as well as developing new and engaging experiences for consumers, partners and advertisers…We currently have mobile products that reach hundreds of different devices (including Blackberry), and we continue to expand that comprehensive list.”

Worry not, Yahoo is saying that it will refocus it energies on other applications and platforms when and if the demand is seen to be high enough. For now, given today’s economic climate, it makes sense that they’d pick one and that the one they went with was iPhone.

Stay tuned to this one, I’m sure more will come.
